CPR Certification Requirements for Daycare & Childcare in Oklahoma

  • Child Care Providers in Oklahoma are required to have an Adult, Child, and Infant Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
  • The Oklahoma Human Services, Child Care Services requires a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and First Aid for licensing. Required training should include; Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • A practical (hands-on) skills component is required by the state or by your Child Care facility to maintain employment.
  • Most employers will require a Lay Rescuer CPR, AED, and First Aid certification for all ages.

Child Care Providers in Oklahoma usually need a Lay Rescuer CPR, AED certification. Required training should include; Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED and First Aid with a practical (hands-on) skills component.



Delivery Method

Child Care Providers in Oklahoma are required to maintain Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED and First Aid that includes a practical skills evaluation through in person or blended training process. A 100% online CPR will only be an option upon the discretion of the employer. If you are not certain of your employer's requirement, make sure to check with them about both the training type and the required course content.

The Oklahoma Human Services, Child Care Services requires Child Care Providers to maintain a certification in Adult, Child, and Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED and First Aid with a practical (hands-on) skills component.

Board Statement:

(d) Professional development. Personnel meet the general professional development requirements in (1) through (8) of this subsection.
(6) CPR and first aid. Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certifications are age-appropriate for the children's ages accepted into care and are from approved sources listed on the OPDR website. In addition to CPR and first aid certification requirements for individuals in (A) through (B) of this subsection, other position specific CPR and first aid certification requirements are also met, per OAC 340:110-3-284.1 through 340:110-3-284.4.
(A) At all times, at least one personnel with current CPR and first aid certification is present with children:
(i) on-site, including in each building where children are present;
(ii) off-site;
