EMS Providers in Nebraska usually need a Basic Life Support(BLS/CPR) certification at the Healthcare provider level. Required skills include; Adult, child and infant CPR, one and two rescuer CPR, AED, and use of a bag-valve-mask. Some EMTs' may also need a First Aid course as well, but this is determined by the employer.

13-017 REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVING ORGANIZATIONS ISSUING A CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION CERTIFICATION: The Board will annually review and approve any nationally recognized organization, issuing cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificates to out-of-hospital emergency medical care providers, whose course meets the following criteria:
The organization issuing the cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate must issue a certificate to each individual who completes the course that identifies the following:
The cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate issued by an approved organization will expire no more than two years from the date of issuance.
